Outdoor on-location sessions are best booked one to two hours before sunset for that beautiful golden hour light. For indoor sessions, (including in home newborn and business branding shoots) starting around 10am is recommended, as that is when the most light filters through, brightening up those indoor spaces.

For all outdoor sessions, Horizon Studios will email you a selection of tried and tested locations. We will work together to find the closest and most suitable option for where you are based and the type of session you are after. Indoor sessions take place in the comfort of your own home for newborns, or at your place of business for branding shoots.

Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel good! If you feel comfortable you will look relaxed in your photos. I recommend light/neutral colours as they look beautiful in photos. A pattern can look great too but they tend to clash if more than one person is wearing one - *TIP: choose the patterned outfit first and then coordinate the colours of the other family members clothing around that outfit. Avoid black clothing, obvious logos and bright/fluoro colours as these may be distracting in your images. Check out Horizon Studios Pinterest for more ideas on what to wear!

The complete session will be sent to you within 7-14 days. I will send you a link to view and download the images directly. A small selection of images from your session will be shared on Horizon Studios' Facebook and Instagram, or emailed directly to you as I work through editing your gallery.

Please contact us as early as possible. Your due date will be noted and a tentative date will be reserved for when your baby is expected to be around 5-14 days old. Then, if possible, please notify us within 48 hours of your baby's birth and your session date will be confirmed. My natural in home style of photography does not require your baby to be less than 14 days old, however if you would like those sleepy baby memories, we recommend the earlier the better.

I will be tracking the weather in the lead-up to your shoot. As weather can change quickly and families often have hair and makeup booked in, we usually make the final decision the morning of the shoot as to whether we reschedule or not. Overcast skies can look amazing in photos and even a little light rain can be magical. Rescheduling due to weather comes at no extra cost.

I completely understand and this is not a problem, just let me know as soon as you can and we can reschedule.
